The conservative VMRO-DPMNE party accused the George Soros funded Foundation Open Society Macedonia (FOSM) of preparing for a new round of incitement of violent protests. This warning comes after FOSM and
several affiliated organizations began distributing funds from the latest USAID awarded grant worth a total of 9,5 million USD.
VMRO-DPMNE blames the far left organization set up by Soros of coordinating with the social-democratic SDSM party in provoking the political crisis of 2015/2016 and the wiretapping affair.
“We are now witnessing an attempt to fill the SDSM/Soros coffers in Macedonia with additional 9,5 million USD. Any attempt to use these funds to subvert our legal and constitutional order will be met with an appropriate response. The people will oppose SDSM/Soros hooligans if they try to repeat their destructive scenario”, VMRO-DPMNE wrote in a press release on Friday.
This latest USAID project is implemented through the East West Management organization, which has extensive ties with the George Soros Open Society Institute, its FOSM branch in Macedonia, and three other affiliated organizations – Metamorphosis, ADI and National Youth Council of Macedonia, which also have political ties with the left.
“The violent protests in Skopje which were funded in a similar way, left 50 police officers injured and caused damages in the millions. Now the people expressed its will in democratic elections and the process of de-Sorosization is inevitable. Criminals like SDSM leader Zaev and the Soros funded hooligans are on their way to become history. The citizens will not allow further manipulation and destruction”, VMRO-DPMNE adds in the press release. Metamorphosis and ADI completed their initial round of calls to offer grants, and now FOSM also offered 370.000 USD in grants that include capacity building, mentorship and training – broad explanations which VMRO-DPMNE believes will translate in funding for future protesters. An civic initiative to review Soros actions in Macedonia informed on Friday that they are informing the incoming US authorities in detail about the political abuse of the funding which USAID has made available to left wing radicals in Macedonia.
