The Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption initiated proceedings against four people for espionage and violence against the representatives of the top state authorities, the public relations office of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Macedonia has informed.

The Ministry of Interior has filed criminal charges against four people for several crimes to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The competent prosecutor issued a warrant for conducting an investigative procedure against the suspect Z.V. for the crime of espionage according to Art. 316 of the Criminal Code and the crime of violence against representatives of top state authorities Art. 311 in relation to Art. 24 of the Criminal Code, the suspect S.V. for crime of espionage Art. 316 in relation to Art. 24 of the Criminal Code, the suspect B.P. for crime of violence against representatives of top state authorities Art. 311 in relation to Art. 24 of the Criminal Code and the suspect Z.Z. for crime of violence against representatives of top state authorities Art. 311 in relation to Art. 19 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Macedonia.

Considering legal criteria have been met, Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption filed a motion for the competent judge to determine measures which will guarantee their presence in the country and availability to the prosecution bodies, as well as conditions for undisrupted criminal procedure – detention of Z.V., S.V. and B.P.

Given all the circumstances the crime has been committed under and the fact that with the case of Z.Z. there has only been an attempt to commit these crimes, detention motion has not been filed for him, but only a precautionary motion and an obligation for the suspect to report to a an authority to prove his presence in the country, as well as temporary confiscation of his passport or any other document that might enable him to leave to country.
