Only SDSM does not recognize the elections, everyone else send congratulations

While the whole world recognizes and congratulates, only Macedonia’s main opposition party SDSM does not recognize the government. On 19 June the Parliament voted the new government with 77 votes “for” and 6 “against”, proposed by designate Nikola Gruevski. Gruevski received numerous Congratulations from many politicians.

The head of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, the Prime Ministers of France, the Netherlands, Czech Republic and Hungary, Manuel Valls, Mark Rutte, Bohuslav Sobotka and Viktor Orban are just some of those who congratulated for re-election and wished him success.

-I send my sincere greetings for the renewal of your term as president of the government. I wish you success in the new term. In particular, I hope that during your term, the country will manage to implement reforms in relation to its European convergence. Be confident Mr. Prime Minister that France will work on strengthening and improvement of political relations and bilateral cooperation that exists between our two countries. Please Mr. President of the Government accept the assurances of my high esteem, according to a greeting by French Prime Minister Manuel Valls sent to Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has congratulated the re-election Gruevski, wishing him success in the implementation of the important tasks.

-I will continue to count on the strong support of your country that is under your leadership, in the implementation of the objectives and principles of the United Nations in our common efforts to address the many interrelated global challenges. Knowing that many of these challenges require strong regional approach, I am encouraged by the importance that you have in reconciling and building deep neighborly relations and cooperation in Southeast Europe, stands in the note from the head of the UN.

The Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte also congratulated the re-election of the Prime Minister Gruevski and emphasizes that he looks forward to continue the mutual cooperation.

-I am convinced that the dialogue between the EU and Macedonia will continue to strengthen, by opening new dimensions in the years to come… I wish you much success in accomplishing future tasks, Rutte says.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in his greetings said he was confident that this result testifies to the success of your job in the government before, and reflects the broad support and trust in society.

-I assure you that Hungary will continue to remain dedicated to the support of the Euro-Atlantic integration of Macedonia, reads the note from Orban.

Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka in his greeting to the Minister expressed conviction that his previous experience will contribute to the prosperity and stability of the Republic of Macedonia.

-I deeply respect the standing ties between our countries and the existence of an excellent level of cooperation. Once we share many common values​​, including interest in the development of European integration as a further development of the North Atlantic alliance, there are many areas for improvement in our joint cooperation. Your Excellency, I wish you much success in your work and I look forward to continue our cooperation in the future, according to a greeting from Sobotka.


While the whole world recognizes and congratulates the landslide victory, only SDSM does not recognize the election results and the new government. The position supported by Zoran Zaev and SDSM of not recognizing the government and legislature is isolating them.
