Twenty million dollars will be the initial investment of the American KSS, which yesterday announced that would expand its production in Europe, in Macedonia. The production capacity will be with area of ​​10,000 square meters and will be built in Kichevo in the free economic zone.

This was announced by the Directorate of Technological Industrial Development Zones Viktor Mizo and Jim Skarp, vice president at KSS.

– Our initial investment, including the cost of building the plant will range between 15 and 20 million U.S. dollars. It could be expanded in the future, if we have success and positive experience in the first phase of our plans. Then there could be a further investment, said Skarp.

The Company plans to hire 1,000 people in Kichevo. At the beginning will work in an existing facility where at the end of this year will start training people, and by the middle of 2015 should move in its own function object. At the initial phase will produce airbags.

– This is the principle as it was used by the investment of “Johnson Controls” in Shtip with the first phase investment of $ 20 million, the new facility will have area of over 10,000 square meters, Mizo said, adding that the important is that this is only the first stage and has the potential for massive expansion of investment.

He added that the contacts with the company for entry in Macedonia began in September 2008, followed by numerous meetings and discussions both in Macedonia and in Detroit. – Although initially due to the global economic crisis they had another decision to continue its activities in existing facilities in Romania, however, perseverance was crucial and normally with our assistance, they have decide for Macedonia, noted Mizo.

It was announced that currently are advanced discussions and negotiations with companies who are their suppliers, to locate their production in Macedonia for the purposes of KSS.

We are talking about American companies that have their facilities in America, Europe, China, Japan, Korea, India, and South America. In Europe, they have plants in Italy and Romania and plants for technical work in Germany.
